SonicAbuse Favourite’s Dreadzone Score International Hit.

Dreadzone, the British dub-dance pioneers, have become the latest unexpected internet youtube sensation.

Despite just a couple of plays on national radio, a remix of their anti-gun crime anthem Gangster by Trolley Snatcha has just amassed an incredible 40,000 plays in the 24 hours since it was uploaded to the UKFDubstep channel, making it youtube’s most viewed music video and the 5th most viewed video of the last 24 hours on the ubiquitous video hosting site!

Dreadzone’s Greg Dread says, “We are honoured that the youtube generation have taken this Trolley Snatcha remix of Gangter to heart. We love it ourselves, but to know that over 40,000 people have heard our music in the last 24 hours without any kind of advertising or celebrity DJ endorsement is an amazing feeling. It just goes to show that if you keep releasing great music, people will find it, listen to it, and from there take the time to discover all the music you’ve release throughout your career ”

Dreadzone have been breaking musical boundaries for nearly 20 years. Cited by John Peel as one of his favourite bands (and responsible for his album of all time), their incredible career has seen them rise from the ashes of Big Audio Dynamite into becoming a hugely respected act in their own right. Signed first by EMI and later by Alan McGhee to Creation records in the height of Oasis-mania, they now run their own Dubwiser label are one of the few acts of that era to still together, performing major headline sets regularly across Europe and releasing critically acclaimed new music.

Trolley Snatcha (Dubstep Police) is one of the fastest rising stars in the UK Dubstep scene. His hit remixes of the likes of Adam F and now Dreadzone (as well as his own productions) have led to his tracks receiving regular plays on national radio and in clubs worldwide.
