Volbeat Announce First Ever UK Tour

VOLBEAT HAVE celebrated the completion of new studio album ‘Beyond Heaven / Above Hell’ by announcing a run of headline UK shows; the first time the Danish quartet – already an arena act in mainland Europe – have embarked on a tour over here.

The band recently made a much-lauded appearance at the Download Festival in Castle Donington, their second showing at this prestigious UK event; they have also shared European stages with the likes of Metallica, AC/DC & Rammstein, showcasing a signature style that that draws equal inspiration from Johnny Cash, Social Distortion & Metallica (!), with tattooed singer/guitarist Michael Poulsen unafraid to show the full breadth of his musical vision.

The list of dates is as follows:-

A Special Guest act will be announced shortly.

Prior to these shows, Volbeat will release their fourth studio outing since first coming together back in 2001; titled ‘Beyond Heaven / Above Hell’ and overseen by regular producer Jacob Hansen, the album – their first for Spinefarm Records UK –  is set to be the band’s most varied effort to date, with all aspects of the well-honed Volbeat sound being pushed to new & exciting levels; in other words, more melody, more atmosphere and definitely more power, with the heavier songs – supported by a number of surprise guest appearances – showing that Poulsen & Co. are true (dark) masters of The Riff.

‘A Warrior’s Call’ a song recorded by the band as a tribute to Danish boxer Mikkel Kessler (who also features on the track), is now confirmed to appear on the album.

The first single, title tbc, is likely to be released in mid-to-late August.
