David Gilmour And Roger Waters Footage Surfaces Online

On the day that pigs sprouted wings and hell froze over, David Gilmour and Roger Waters appeared together in Oxford in front of 200 startled audience members in order to support the Hoping Foundation which raises money for Palestinian refugees. Playing a short set including ‘Wish you were here’, ‘another brick in the wall part 2′ and ‘Comfortably numb’ as well as a cover of Phil Spector’s ‘to know him is to love him’, the duo appeared noticably relaxed on stage together and it is hoped that people viewing the footage (which is available here and on the Hoping website) will donate to this amazing cause while enjoying some of the greatest songs ever recorded. While a Pink Floyd reunion is unlikely (not least since the tragic death of Richard Wright in 2008) there are high hopes (sorry – couldn’t resist) that David will appear for at least one of Roger Waters’ shows although which one remains shrouded in mystery. In the meantime, fans of the band should be grateful for this footage of the pair together and if you like what you see head on over to Hoping to support the noble cause that bought these legends back together.
