The Leicester based alternative rock band Final Coil unveiled the first new track from their forthcoming EP today on their myspace page. The band, who played a MrsVee night with Oaf, Gregorian, The Resonance Association and General Paulus on Friday and then joined Alunah for a SonicAbuse night in Leicester, have been honing their live skills for some time and the new EP reflects the darker, tighter edge that the band have introduced since stabilising their turbulent line-up.
Regarding the track and the forthcoming EP, the band released this statement:
“Following two very successful gigs in London and Leicester, Final Coil are preparing a free single for a Dec 1st release. The three track single, which will be available as a free digital download, will feature exclusive new artwork, two b sides (including a live version of This Love) and the title track waste yr time. In advance of this, you can check out waste yr time now at the band’s Myspace page.
Recorded alongside 4 other tracks, waste yr time highlights the band’s develpment in the last year and a shift to a darker, more progressive sound. The EP will be released in January 2011 and will be followed by a short tour. Both the EP and the Single will also be available at live dates as a limited edition CD which will be proffessionally printed and will feature a 4 page booklet containing lyrics and photos. The special CD edition will cost £3 for the single and £5 for the EP with all money made going towards a second EP currently slated for March 2011.
In the meantime, head over to myspace and check out the first track to become available from Final Coil.”
Waste yr time is available to stream now. You can also chack out the latest news on the band at www.finalcoil.com
