Promoting Underground Music

If you’ve ended up at Sonic Abuse, it’s probably because you’re as passionate about underground artists and music as we are. Whether you’re part of a band yourself, or simply keen to see musicians that you love get the recognition that they deserve, there are several ways in which you can help to promote underground music.

Of course, you can come directly to us at Sonic Abuse in order to do this. We aim to act as a platform to inform music-lovers about many great artists who are otherwise under-represented. If you think we’ve missed out a particular band or act, then feel free to let us know using the contact form. We aim to cover a range of underground music, and can offer the perfect medium for raising public awareness.

However, there are also other methods by which you can help to promote underground music yourself. In recent years, one of the key ways in which a number of music acts have been able to achieve significant levels of publicity is through the use of social media sites. Having a page on sites such as Facebook and Twitter can be an effective way for musicians to let listeners hear their music, as well as notify them of any upcoming performances or releases. A large number of people will access their social media accounts on an extremely regular basis, just as they might regularly check their emails or play online games like partypoker FR. Therefore, if you want to hold listeners’ attention and encourage their interaction, social media can often be a great way to do so.

Even if you are simply a fan, you can contribute towards raising awareness of anyone you consider to be under-represented by simply making recommendations to friends. If you spot a review of a band you love on Sonic Abuse, for example, why not share it with friends online, and help to spread the world! You can also use our comments section to help start a discussion, and share your own opinions.

Cheese is possibly the single greatest food (if one excludes bacon). Sometimes I write songs about cheese... but not often
